Method: Holding the stamped pieces by the edges, cut out, leaving a border around the images. Be careful not to smear the ink. You can leave a little tab for holding the piece that you trim off last. Cut 2 more pieces from the PolyShrink sheet, running in the same direction as the first two, that are at least 1/2 inch bigger than the trimmed top layer images at their broadest points. You can draw out the size you think will be best on paper first and then check the proportions against the trimmed top layer pieces. Be sure to allow a little extra room for punching the holes for the earwires. Round corners with a corner rounder or scissors. Rub chalk pastels into the cut pieces and stipple lightly with ink. Use a fairly dry pad to ink up the stipple brush. Finish the back layer with random stampings of several different images. Punch the holes for the earwires. Shrink all 4 pieces, glue the layers together and attach earwires. Tip: Experiment with different colors of ink and pastels on scrap PolyShrink. Colors sometimes look quite different together after shrinking. Also notice how much the pastel colors deepen after shrinking. Light applications of pastels are often best.
