The frame is a bamboo soap dish. Its edge was colored using successive applications of Crafter's ink, starting with Merlot, then Roussillion, then Black, heat setting between colors.

The paper background was stamped with Warm Green Colorbox Fluid Chalk ink. (Stamp some ink off onto another piece of paper to keep the impressions light.)

For the Black PolyShrink centerpiece, Merlot and Roussillion Crafter's was stippled on to make a variegated background. After shrinking, the Chinese character was impressed by the intaglio method, using a stamp inked with Sunflower Crafter's. After cooling highlighting was added to the character with a Lemon Yellow Fabrico marker. Finished with Matte spray sealer.

Note: If a stamp has been inked and then used for intaglio, it may be necessary to use stamp cleaner to remove ink from the stamp. Usually, this isn't necessary if the stamp is cleaned promptly.
