Method:
Start by applying a base color coat to the box. This can be done with a wide variety of paints or pigments. (This box began with a coat of flat black spray paint.) Follow the base coat with several colors of heat setting ink applied using a stippling brush. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for heat setting the ink.
Next, use metallic markers to dot patterns onto the box. Apply a coat of Matte Spray sealer.

When you've completed your Faux Beach Glass elements, adhere them to the box using UTB (Ultra Thin Bond), or other glue.
For the finishing touch, add little feet made of wood. A variety of wooden shapes are available at home and craft stores. Color them to match your box, apply a coat of sealer and adhere them to the bottom of the box.
