Punched PolyShrink Flowers

Cute as can be, and easy too!

PolyShrink type: Canvas White

Punch: EK Success (1 inch version)

Art Supplies: Decorating chalks

Finished size: maximum dimension, 3/4 inch

Instructions

Sand a sheet of Canvas White PolyShrink and use a paper cutter to divide the sheet as shown. each eight of a sheet will yield 8 flowers.

If you want pale, pastel hues, begin tinting with an underlayment of white decorating chalk. If you want more vivid colors skip this step.

Open a small pair of scissors and make shavings of chalk onto the sanded side of the PolyShrink.

Rub the shavings into the surface, then tap off any excess pigment.

Remember that colors intensify after shrinking!

You may want to do a few tests on scrap plastic and then shrink to get a feel for how different applications will turn out.

If you're going for a pale color, choose the lightest version of the color you want and add a small amount of shavings.

If you want vibrant color, skip the application of white chalk and add a bit more shavings and consider using richer colors.

Rub in the pigment and tap off any excess.

Add any additional colors you want to use in the same way.

Turn the punch upside down and position to the edge of the piece of PolyShrink.
Turn the punch down (to avoid the shapes flying around) and punch out the shapes.
Continue positioning the next punching close to the last one.
If you like, add additional color with your fingers or a foam tip applicator
After baking the colors intensify.

A coat of sealer is recommended for the colored side.
