Instructions

Fluid Chalk inks are a beautiful and versatile way to color Clear PolyShrink die cuts. Inks come in full size and smaller palette sizes. Either may be used.

Sand a sheet of Clear PolyShrink.

Cut the sheet into quarters. These pieces will fit easily into the die cutter. Die cut the shapes. If you want mirror image versions of the shapes, position the PolyShrink with the sanded side up one time and down the next.

Trim a rectangle around the interior die cut. Don't trim too close. A generous border is better and won't look spindly after baking.

Check that the star is positioned with the sanded side up.

Press the ink pad to the star.

The pad will pick up the shape. If needed, press the shape to the pad for an even application of ink.
Remove the shape from the pad, touching the back side as little as possible.

If you want the color to be on the the pale side, buff most of the ink back off with a paper towel.

Then turn the shape over (shiny side up) and buff again to remove any ink from the front side.

If you want a darker color, skip this step.

For the rectangle with the internal cut out, apply ink directly off the pad by repeatedly pressing the pad against the sanded side.

The cut out on the left has the full quantity of ink. The one on the right has most of the color buffed off.

After baking the colors intensify.

A coat of sealer is recommended for the inked side.

If you'd like the front side to be shiny, leave without sealer. If you'd like a matte surface, apply a coat of matte spray sealer.
