Black PolyShrink Frame with Punched Shapes

Punched PolyShrink shapes are a fun way to liven up frames or other projects!

At right-

Background Stamp- Magenta
Ink- Colorbox Crafter's
Small star punch (Family Treasures)

To make a frame like the one above, you'll need:

• A stamp suitable for making a background design

• Crafter's inks-

Apple Green and Sky Blue (from the Paradise Crafter's palette), for the background stamping

Orange, Pink (also from the Paradise palette), and Canary (from the Bold Crafter's palette), for coloring the stars

Note: Colored pencils can be used instead of the 2nd group of Crafter's colors

Stamp in a random pattern using Apple Green and Sky Blue from the Paradise Crafter's palette.

Ink the stamp on the diagonal with one color.....

..... then the other as shown.

Make a random stamping.

You don't have to re-ink after every impression, but it will be needed once or twice.

Using some of the extra PolyShrink removed from the center of the frame, or other scrap, punch out several stars.
Make a direct from the pad application of Crafter's in Pink and Orange (from the Paradise palette) and Canary (from the Crafter's Bold palette).

Handle gently without touching the image.

Bake your frame and punched shapes. There's no need to allow drying time. The heat needed to shrink the frame will dry as well as set the ink.

Using a spray sealer after baking is recommended. Please see our Sealers Page for more information.

Alternate techniques:

Sponge or stipple in Crafter's ink instead of stamping.

Use other punched shapes. Those measuring from 1" to 1.5" shrink to be a good size for a frame.

Color the stars before punching with a heavy application of colored pencils instead of using ink. Sand with coarser sandpaper for a heavier layer of color.
