Terry has developed a great technique using dots or lines of fabric paints. After shrinking, some of the pieces look like beadwork. Others take on the look of fabric techniques like trapunto or molas.

"I discovered this through some sheets I bought for stocking stuffers. I gave some to my two daughters one Christmas and waited for the art to pour forth. Much later, I realized they were never going to touch these things and could care less if I did. So I did.

I started out with fingernail polish, what ever paints we had around. Fingernail polish warped the plastic pretty badly. Then I tried fabric paints. These were cool. Glossy finish, good color, they bead up when they shrink, and they're designed to take some heat. Now I look regularly for hard to find colors. Fluorescent blue is very rare.

My favorite fabric paints are Tulip brand, typically the glossy and the stitch types. The puffy ones don't stick too well and have a dull finish. All pieces are sprayed with clear Krylon.

I started out with shapes- hearts, a lot of hearts, then I started using line drawings and clip art as the basic template, and taking it from there.I have had no art training since the second grade. I have always doodled but can't really draw that well. I do enjoy geometrics and color matching.

I'm 47 years old and live in Houston, TX. I have lived all over the world and all over the country. I am married, and have two daughters, Kathryn who turned 14 on New Years Eve 1999, and Christina, 13."
